"My crew loved working with Opus™ Roof Blanket. The guys thought Opus provided excellent walk-ability versus felt paper. And. it handles great; it's light weight and easy to install. which will be a real advantage for roofers working by themselves. The finished surface area is a huge advantage over felt paper. Opus lays flat with no wrinkles or curls. We left it overnight. totally uncovered. and when we got to the job the next day, it was exactly how we left it. That saves me time and money because my crew didn't have to redo any work."

"The first day of the job we had some early morning dew and the traction of Opus Roof Blanket was great - we were able to cover the entire back side of the roof with the Decra stone-coated steel tiles very easily and didn't lose any time." said Todd. "We were able to cut it with a sharp knife and staple it with a hammer stapler very quickly." he said. "The tan color and unique surface allowed us to write on Opus and actually be able to see our marks where we had to work around the dormers." said Jonathan. "It's also easier to see a chalk line." He mentioned that even on a 75 degree (F) day, the roof can really heat up, but the tan color of Opus kept the roof much cooler. "It was noticeably cooler than felt paper, which typically adds about 10 degrees (F) to the temperature of the roof." "You really don't save anything using cheap or flimsy underlayment." Todd added. "It will cost you in the long run and there are few things more important than safety on the job."

"I was initially skeptical and thought there was not much difference between many of the underlayment products on the market." said Bennette. "When I used Opus and compared it to felt and other synthetics, it's by far the best product." "Many of our roofing projects are coastal applications and are in demanding environments with exceedingly high winds and horizontal wind-driven rains that simulate a power washer hitting your building." he said. "A shingle roof system, unlike a flat roof membrane, is not an impermeable water barrier and relies upon shedding water." Bennette further explained, "A quality roof underlayment is not only required by building codes, but is a key component as the roof system's last layer of defense in severe conditions." He also observed that Opus stood up to Nor'easters. Very high winds and virtual "monsoons" with weather tight protection and good grip around the fasteners. "Opus really is in a class by itself." he said. "Overall, we're saving time and labor as well as ensuring worker safety -- and giving our customers a better roof with Opus." said Bennette. "The skeptic has been won over!"

Martin Ferguson said he depends on referrals in his region and that his attention to detail and sound roofing installations has led to more business and repeat customers. He often ends up repairing the roofs installed with no underlayment that ultimately leaked, bringing many loyal customers to his business. He noted that Opus is also more durable and pointed to the tear-free guarantee. “You really cannot tear it like felt paper and it’s so lightweight, it’s nothing to carry it up a ladder.” Ferguson also likes the UV resistance and 30/30 warranty, which says that Opus may remain uncovered for 30 months and is then covered by 30 year warranty after the roofing materials are applied. “I will be testing that out on my own house,” he added. Ferguson, as someone who cares about doing a quality roofing job, said his goal is always to create a long-lasting roof for his customers. “I want the roof to last for the life of the home with as little maintenance as possible for the homeowner.”
